An Invitation from the General Chair

On behalf of the RFIC Steering Committee and TPC, I would like to welcome you to attend the 2012 IEEE RFIC Symposium.  In 2012, the RFIC Symposium will be held in Montréal, Canada from June 17-19, 2012.  In conjunction with the IEEE MTT‑S International Microwave Symposium, RFIC Symposium opens Microwave Week 2012, the largest world-wide RF/Microwave meeting of the year.

The meeting in Montreal promises to be a special event as it marks the 60th anniversary of the MTT-S.  Montreal is the largest city in the province of Quebec, the second-largest city in Canada, and after Paris, the second largest French-speaking city in the world.  It is a diverse and culturally rich urban centre, famous in the summer for its International Jazz Festival.  The old world charm of historic downtown Montreal combined with all the amenities of a modern metropolis makes for an ideal setting for all to enjoy a trip to the RFIC Symposium with colleagues, family, or friends.

The RFIC Symposium is a great event to attend for both students and newcomers to the field who want to learn about RFIC design as well as industry veterans who want to keep up to date with the latest trends and advances in the field.  The Symposium kicks off with a full-day lineup of workshops followed by a Plenary Session and evening reception.  The technical program includes 2 days of technical presentations, 2 lunch-time panel sessions featuring debate on current topics in the industry, as well as an Interactive Forum poster session allowing one-one discussion with paper authors.  If you are a part of the RFIC community, you don’t want to miss this event and the chance to catch up with your fellow colleagues and the on-going world-wide technology development in RF circuits, systems, and devices.

So please mark your calendars for June 17-19 in 2012.  I look forward to seeing you all in Montreal for the next edition of the RFIC Symposium!
